about

This track was pretty exciting because the bulk of it I got done in one take! Then added shakers (which were actually Scotch tape dispensers) and solo guitar and harmonies. It's kinda inspired by Bossa Nova/Jazz music, I hope you like it.

It's about life and how hard it is to realize that everything you do is done for all time. It's not something you can take an eraser to. A lot of times we try to fantasize ways to make ourselves big, to write an "epic novel" out of our lives, but even then in a couple hundred years no one will honestly care. No one cares about this song right now, and no one will listen to it in ten years. Furthermore, no one will probably ever listen to this song even once again, you probably clicked this song on accident and don't know why your reading the "about this track" section. :) But if there's anything that this song gets across is that I would probably be a very different person under this crushing load of responsibility than I am with Jesus controlling my story and my future.

lyrics

Can there ever be a better time,
I asked myself after that time passed,
Could there ever be a better time,
To bring myself to drop the line rehearsed.
Will there ever be another time,
Another moment with another shot at a try,
Just A repeat to fix my life,

But life isn't a paper, and you are not the pencil,
Life is a stone tablet, and you control the chisel
So chip chip chip away,
Dull dull dull your blade,
Even your epic novel will eventually be thrown away.

As I let go a solemn sigh,
That drips like rain from up high,
Could there ever be a better time,
To bring myself to cry about life,
I don't foresee me creating,
Anything worth reading for all time,
So maybe the best thing to do,
is let someone else see My story through.

(outro)
I die die die today,
So that i may,
Have this burden taken away taken away,
And all the wrong scratches,
And sin ridden distractions will dissapear
they'll disappear,
and all the old markings, and etchings and sketchings,
that i used to identify myself
slowly disappear,
I'm reflecting someone elses story,
I'm reflecting someone elses glory,
I'm reflecting Jesus story,
I'm reflecting Jesus glory,
